To start with, it is necessary to admit that this week turned out to be a useful time period, which helped me to increase my expertise and gain useful pieces of knowledge crucial for professional practice in future. The data, which I acquired, assisted me to see the cardiovascular issues from a new angle and find out new things, which I will use while observing the patients. The week was extremely significant, as I revealed three new issues, which were new to me.
The first thing which I would like to mention is the fact that pericarditis could be the result of virus infection. I performed the literature review and found out that COVID-19 infection also promotes pericarditis. It is common in patients with acute infection, but rare in the post-acute period (Carrubi et al., 2021). The second essential thing, which I found out was the fact that digoxin is rarely utilized to treat heart failure. Researches exhibit that digoxin produces neutral effect on the heart muscle and is not effective for treatment of heart failure (Virgadamo et al., 2015). Another important finding is that O2 supplementation is not beneficial for patients with normal O2 levels. This piece of data was crucial, as I knew that O2 supplementation was widespread for management of the patients with myocardial infarction. I need to state that this information is essential for me, as it possesses the potential to improve the clinical symptoms of my patients during the forthcoming practice.
In conclusion, it is necessary to state that this week helped me to acquire new pieces of knowledge. I managed to learn the nuances related to the estimation and treatment of patients with cardiovascular disorders. The data, which I gained, will help me to perform patient evaluation better and take more efficient disease-management decisions.
